Abigail was the absolute right choice for my home birth with my son. My daughter had been born in a birthing center in the water, and I was sure I could have another safe and gentle birth the second time. As a midwife, I find Abigail is sensitive and trusting enough to know how to simply be present and supportive of the process of labor and birth, as well as knowledgeable and intuitive to know when to intervene or offer suggestions. With her, I felt completely safe, relaxed, cared for and nurtured, which enabled me to have a very easy labor and birth. There is nothing I would have done differently!

Abigail is a wonderful midwife. She delivered all three of my babies. She has a heart of gold and is very passionate about her job. Not only is she a great midwife, she became a great friend and companion along the way. Abigail made my birthing experiences very pleasant. She made sure I was comfortable throughout the deliveries. She made herself available at my convenience. She went out of her way every time to be there to deliver my babies even when she wasn't on call. I was introduced to the idea of using a midwife by my insurance. I'd always had an OB/GYN in the past but decided to give it a try with my second pregnancy. I was immediately taken with the experience. Instead of treating my pregnancy like a disease that needed "treatment", Abigail supported and cared for me as a whole person (and my baby too!). My only regret was there was not a birthing center in Albuquerque at the time. Even so, she made the delivery very special and personalized too. With my first child, who was delivered by an OB/GYN, I didn't even see a doctor until "showtime", after having been in labor for about 30 hours. Abigail, on the other hand, was checking on me and my labor progress every step of the way, even though she was off-duty. She made me feel safe and calm during a very anxious time. I valued the experience so much that when I found out I was pregnant with my third child, she was my first call!

My husband and I truly feel blessed that Abigail was there to deliver both of our sons. Each birthing experience, while unique in their own ways, was made better through Abigail's expertise. Through both deliveries Abigail exhibited the utmost in professionalism, but, more importantly, her genuine warmth and the love she brings to her vocation is something that must be experienced to appreciate. We felt safe, well informed, and well taken care of. My post partum care was excellent as well. Abigail took the time to make sure both my baby and I were doing well. Abigail delivered my son in June 2006. I was 42-plus weeks and had been in labor for 3 days at home. My son's head was lodged over the left side of my pelvis; there was lots of meconium and a pretty intensive resuscitation. Anyway, she was terrific. She helped me advocate when the doctor wanted to resort to a c-section and she helped me not tear at all. I am thankful for her whenever I think about my son's birth, which is frequently.
